  Washington DC Forum The Developing Countries Forum has been launched on October 25, 2005 in Washington DC. Regular meetings are organized to discuss issues related to competitiveness and developing countries. These meetings are open to all interested TCI members and Donor organizations.

  Platform on Evaluation

Washington State's governor, Gary Locke, is currently promoting Bio21, a plan that would pledge $250 million to the further development of their biotech industry. Locke hopes to have matching funds from private donors like Microsoft and Amgen, but has yet to reveal all sources of funding.

On the 19th September TCI held it's 6th General Assembly at the annual conference in Gothenburg, Sweden. In this occasion a new TCI Executive Committee was elected. The members of the committee represent diverse backgrounds and regions and have committed to ensuring TCI´s continuity and expanding activities for the benefit of all members.

Michael Porter gave a keynote address to close the end of TCIs 6th Annual Conference. The presentation outlined the economic reasoning behind cluster strategy and how it has been greatly developed over recent years, helping make cluster-based approaches a widely accepted strategy for economic development.
