The Board of Directors

Since October 2007, Juan Manuel Esteban is TCI President and Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is economist and coordinates the Cluster Policy in the Basque Country, Spain.

Dr. Lars Eklund is the Immediate Past President and Director on the Board of The Competitiveness Institute (TCI). He is also a Member of the Advisory Board of the Pan African Competitiveness Forum. Lars is the Director of Competitiveness at the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems VINNOVA.

Alberto Pezzi is the Secretary of the Board of Directors of TCI-The Competitiveness Institute. He is based in Barcelona, Spain where he is Head of Analysis of the Observatory of Industrial Foresight of the Catalan Government Centre for Innovation and Business Development (CIDEM) with direct responsibilities in industry competitiveness and cluster-based initiatives.

Elisabeth Waelbroeck-Rocha is the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of TCI-The Competitiveness Institute. She is Vice-President of BIPE, France.

Since 2006, Arthur Bayhan is Director on the Board of Directors of TCI-The Competitiveness Institute. He is Chief Executive Officer of The Competitiveness Support Fund in Pakistan.

Since October 2007, Nigel Gwynne-Evans is Director on the Board of Directors of TCI-The Competitiveness Institute. He is also responsible for the organization of Cape Town 2008, TCI 11th Annual Global Conference. He works for the Economic Development & Tourism, Western Cape Government, South Africa.

Since October 2007, Klaus Haasis is Director on the Board of Directors of TCI - The Competitiveness Institute. He is Managing Director of MFG Baden-Württemberg, the public Innovation Agency for IT and Media in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

Since October 2007, Christian Ketels is Director on the Board of Directors of TCI-The Competitiveness Institute. He is Senior Research Fellow at the Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden.

Since October 2007, Kevin Murphy is Director on the Board of Directors of TCI - The Competitiveness Institute. Kevin Murphy is President and co-founder of JE Austin Associates, USA.

Since 2007, Alonso Ramos Vaca is Director on the Board of Directors of TCI-The Competitiveness Institute. He was responsible for the organization of TCI 3CLAC, 3rd Latin American Cluster Conference in Chihuahua. He manages his own company in Chihuahua, Mexico where he is an active volunteer contributing to the economic development of the State.
