The Texas Energy Center (TEC www.txec.org)- a cluster working towards national and international leadership in energy-related innovation and commerce - has just recieved a $3.6 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund.

The state Governor Rick Perry explained how the policy will contribute to the prosperity of the southern U.S state:

"This commitment of Enterprise Fund money not only will lead to the creation of new, high-paying jobs in Texas but also will help expand Texas' reputation as a leader in the development of new and cleaner energy technologies and resources."

Upon recieving the grant the TEC has committed to creating 1,500 new jobs in Texas and to invest a minimum of $20 million in new construction projects in Sugarland, the area of Texas where the cluster has it's headquarters.
