Mateja DermastiaState Undersecretary, Ministry of the Economy, Slovenia Mateja Dermastia of Ljubljana, Slovenia is TCI's treasurer.She holds a B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry as well as a Master's Degree of Economic Science from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana. At the present time Mateja Dermastia occupies the position of the State Undersecretary in the Ministry of Economy of Republic of Slovenia. She is involved with and active in the areas of development policy to promote innovation processes as well as competitiveness of Slovenian economy. She has been active as a researcher and advisor in the field of innovation systems for more than a decade. Mateja worked as consultant and researcher at ITEO, the largest Slovenian consulting companies, and later on at Center for International Competitiveness, one of the first think thank in Slovenia, she conducted numerous benchmarking studies, industrial analysis, first mapping study on clusters in Slovenia. She adviced numerous groups of firms and institutions, providing them with strategic advice on how to increase competitiveness at cluster level. As advisor she was also responsible for promoting cooperation between Slovenian and Chinese enterprises. At present time she is a member of several experts group at EU as well OECD on the cluster development fields. As expert Mateja Dermastia is a frequent lecturer & panelist on clustering and innovation issue. |
