Walter Freudenthaler

Director, Department for 'Network and Cluster Building' of ecoplus, Austria

Walter Freudenthaler, Head of department for "Network and Cluster Building" of ecoplus - The Regional Development Agency of Lower Austria. He is responsible for initiating, coordinating and facilitating cluster initiatives in the region and for establishing the clusters' organisational framework. So far, four cluster initiatives have been set up in the region of Lower Austria under his direction: the Timber Cluster Lower Austria, the Automotive Cluster Vienna Region (ACVR), the Wellbeing Cluster Lower Austria and the Ecological Construction Cluster Lower Austria. Before he joined ecoplus, he was a senior consultant for organisational development projects and start-ups for more than ten years. He was also chief executive and stakeholder of an Ecological Consultancy in Austria. Walter Freudenthaler also gained international experience in the development of food cooperatives while working in Mexico for four years. Walter Freudenthaler holds a Master in Economic Sciences from the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
