Alec Hansen

President, ECGGroup, Berkeley, USA

Alec Hansen from San Francisco, USA is TCI's president.
He is a Ph.D. Regional development economist, with 25 years experience evenly divided between the US and developing countries.

He lived in Iran, Pakistan, and Indonesia for several years each, with extended assignments in Mexico, Peru, and Malaysia. Alec Hansen is active in competitiveness analysis & cluster development since 1994, when he joined the Economic Competitiveness Group. Since then he participated in cluster projects around in Nicaragua, Panama, Mexico, Morocco, South Africa, Russia, and Georgia as well as in several U.S. states (Texas, Louisiana, Florida, New York, California).

Alec Hansen is a frequent lecturer and panelist on competitiveness issues, including at the World Bank and IMF Annual Meeting in Hong Kong (1997).
