Ken Lanza

Director, Economic Growth, Bureau for Europe and Eurasia - United States Agency for International Development

Mr. Kenneth A. Lanza is a senior officer in the U.S. Foreign Service. From May 2003-March 2004, he served as Foreign Affairs Advisor and Liaison to the Assistant to the President in the Executive Office of the President, USA Freedom Corps in the White House. He joined the U.S. Government in 1984 and oversees the USAID's $2.3 billion economic growth programs in Europe and Eurasia as the Director of Economic Growth. Mr. Lanza has lived and worked in developing countries for over 26 years. His responsibilities have included management of economic growth portfolios for countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and Eurasia for the Agency. He has authored numerous publications dealing with international development issues.

Prior to joining the U.S. Government, Mr. Lanza held the executive positions with CBS, Inc., Burroughs Corporation and O.H.S. Transport Ltd., based in Rainham, Essex, England. He was graduated with a M.A. in International Development Policy from Duke, an M.B.A. from the University of Miami and an A.B. from Colgate University. He is a Board Director of Lafayette Federal Credit Union in Kensington, Maryland, and for Cardel Group, Inc., of Miami, Florida. He also sits on the Board of Advisors of The Competitiveness Institute, headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, and for the International Executive Services Corps, a volunteer-based organization, located in Stamford, Connecticut.
