This 2000 paper was presented by Lynn Mytelka and Fulvia Farinelli at the meeting on "Local Productive Clusters and Innovation Systems in Brazil".
This paper discusses the sustainablility of a process of continuous innovation in cluster industries.

The paper is split into different sections

  1. the sustainablility of a process of continuous innovation in cluster industries
  2. develops a typology that distinguishes among clusters in terms of their potential for dynamic change
  3. uses two examples: production and exports in furniture in Herning, area of Central Jutland (Denmark) and spectacle frame cluster in Belluno (Italy)
  4. draws on the relevance of all these points when implementing policy in Brazil.
