A report which compares the economic policies in differing regions in European countries. Four countries were selected and their regional policies compared: Denmark, France, England and Belguim.
The main types of organisations which were selected for review were:

  • Regional organisations involoved in delivery of economic developement policies and either centrally funded or come under the influence of central govenment
  • National government offices in the regions which deliver or coordinate central government policies at the regional level
  • Sectoral agencies which operate on behalf of the central government in the regions

For all these bodies, the main area of interest is in how they were financed and managed and, in particular how they cooperated with each other and with central government.
