Strategic change and clusters in Catalonia
This is a report commissioned by the Generalitat de Catalonia on strategic change and clusters in Catalonia.
Catalan companies have been faced with increased competitiveness, new technologies in production activity, the development of new management practices in companies and their work forces, and the growing changes in the more sophisticated and heterogeneous consumer markets. Therefore, company competitiveness has turned into one of the economic objectives of many governments, which means exposure to international competition in some sectors of the economy where previously their competitive environment had been domestic.
The report analyzes the strategic challenges of the future raised by companies with most development potential, not necessarily the largest or those considered leaders, and takes note of the public response necessary for contributing to and reinforcing their competitiveness.
