Stockholm is to host the 7th Annual Baltic Development Forum Summit from 16-18 October 2005. It is being organized by the City of Stockholm, the Swedish government and in cooperation with VINNOVA, the Swedish Agency for Innovation Systems.

The Baltic Forum acts as an unique platform for debating key issues of importance to decision makers in the Baltic Sea region. Partners in politics, business, academia and media from the 11 countries in the region shall be present, including representatives from regional organisations and external actors. The summit hopes to build on the efforts of the Baltic Sea Inititiative 2010, an initiative of leading stakeholder groups across the region for the development of a shared goal on how to develop the Baltic Sea Region into a world leader in terms of economic growth, competitiveness and innovation.

The principal aim of the summit is for the Baltic Sea Region's decision makers to discuss business opportunities and challenges, establish partnerships and formulate new regional strategies.

Participation is mainly reserved for members and partners of the Baltic Development Forum, including stakeholders in the Baltic Sea Initiative 2010.

The summit prospectus has been attached, which includes an introductory overview of the main themes to be discussed in Stockholm. To download the summit click here
