Led by TCI president Lars Eklund, the participants learned about different methodologies and then discussed on objectives, obstacles and actions to take in the year following the Symposium.

Participants of the Symposium
The main outcome was the decision to work on a Toolbox of Cluster Competitiveness Evaluation. As a first step all participants will gather existing material and labeling on Evaluation to come to a common definition of the different tools and metholodogies.
For instance you can download here some material which has been developed during this phasis, based on the outcomes of the Barcelona Symposium.

This shall then be presented and validated in a workshop during the annual conference in Lyon (see the
Lyon program, Thursday, October 12) in order to have a Taxonomy of Tools and State of the Art Paper by end of the year.
TCI is now planning a second workshop in Washington DC (September 14/15) to continue the process. In order to allow good discussion and progress we will limit the participation number again to 40.
Within the next week we are going to send out invititations to all TCI members to register for this event. If you are interested or want to contribute to the toolbox, please contact Franziska Blunck at
