Veneto Innovazione - International Cluster Conference

Veneto Innovazione is organizing an international cluster conference in Venice in January 18th-19th 2007 under the theme: Patterns of clusters evolution - models, practices, technologies and policies.

The conference aims to discuss the future of clusters, dealing with the quetions, how to structure the suitable organisational models, how to foster networking and trans-national cooperation and which inputs can give technologies and policies for cluster development.

This conference will bring together policy makers, EU experts, academics, district managers coming from some 20 European regions.

The conference is expected to

· present different regional/national approaches to clusters development;

· exchange experiences and best practices on the role of regional/national authorities;

· better understand how to support successfully cluster evolution stimulating knowledge and innovation;

· prepare the ground for possible partnerships in future common cluster initiatives.

The European Commission will be represented at the conference by the following Directorates-General: DG Enterprise and Industry, DG Regional Policy, DG Research in order to present the EC comprehensive perspectives on clusters topic and cluster future initiatives.
