Klaus Haasis
Since October 2007, Klaus Haasis is Director on the Board of Directors of TCI - The Competitiveness Institute. He is Managing Director of MFG Baden-Württemberg, the public Innovation Agency for IT and Media in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Klaus Haasis is Managing Director of MFG Baden-Württemberg, the public Innovation Agency for IT and Media in Baden-Württemberg. Since its foundation in 1995, MFG Baden-Württemberg has developed into one of the leading innovation agencies in Europe, focusing on information technology, software, telecommunication and the creative industries. Customers and partners are companies, associations, universities, ministries and other public organizations all over Europe. In 1997, Haasis was also appointed Managing Director of "Baden-Württemberg: Connected"—an initiative that is the leading business network for promoting Baden-Württemberg as a center of IT and advanced technology.
Since its foundation in 2005, Haasis has also served as Managing Director of Linux Solutions Group, an initiative to promote Open Source Software. Previously, Haasis held a number of key leadership positions. From 1990 to 1995, he was Managing Director of the private television network SAT.1 Baden-Württemberg. From 1983 to 1990, he worked as Media Manager for Hoechst, one of the biggest chemical companies in the world.
Haasis graduated from Stuttgart Media University (HdM) and University of Hohenheim receiving master's degrees in Media Engineering and Journalism. He worked as Scientific Assistant at the University of Hohenheim and held university teaching positions for Media Politics and Media Management in Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Mainz. Until 2001, he served as a member of the Information Society Forum at the European Commission. Today, he is a member of the experts panel "Politics of Research and Technology" at the Industry Association of Baden-Württemberg and sits on the supervisory board at August Koehler AG in Oberkirch, the advisory council "Information and Library" at Goethe Institute in Munich and the supervisory board at Stuttgart Media University.
