Lighting-fixture manufacturing cluster in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area
This analysis of the lighting-fixture manufacturing cluster in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area has been undertaken by the Observatory for Industrial Prospecting of the Government of Catalonia and gives and overview on the competitive situation of the cluster.
The article shows the differences in the technical and decorative lighting segments, whereas the technical lighting segment has shown much more positive development over the past years and an optimistic outlook into the future despite the challenges they face with a fragmented enterprise structure, lack of internationalization and the high competition from other European countries and low-cost providers.
