Letter of Intent

The Board of Directors of TCI has approved the nomination of Alec Hansen as Commissioner, delegating its faculties to him on issues concerning the fulfilment of TCO objectives in relation to financing actors of economic development in the third world. The mission of Alec is to engage donor organizations around the world to become active members or partners. The period of mission is one year, to be prolonged pending on a mutual assessment. Alec will be working directly with the president and also reports to the Boards of Directors and Advisors.

Resumé

Alec Hansen from San Francisco, USA, is TCI's vice president for the Americas. He is a Ph.D. and regional development economist, with 25 years experience evenly divided between the US and developing countries. He lived in Iran, Pakistan, and Indonesia for several years each, with extended assignments in Mexico, Peru, and Malaysia.

Alec is active in competitiveness analysis & cluster development since 1994, when he joined the Economic Competitiveness Group. Since then he participated in cluster projects around in Nicaragua, Panama, Mexico, Morocco, South Africa, Russia, and Georgia as well as in sveral U.S. states (Texas, Louisiana, Florida, New York, California) and he is a frequent lecturer and panelist on competitiveness issues world wide.
