The 3rd Latin American Cluster Conference, 3CLAC, took place in Chihuahua, Mexico, the last week of May 2008. It was an event that fully met its objectives of advancing the cluster agenda in Latin America by promoting closer ties among cluster practitioners in the region as well as by facilitating an open exchange of experiences, results and methodologies. There were over 150 participants from 17 countries and over 55 presentations.

1st Pan African Competitiveness Forum in Addis Ababa The Ist Pan African Competitiveness Forum (PACF) has successfully launched a new continent-wide competence and action centre for an innovation and cluster based competitiveness approach to national and regional economic development.

10-11 July 2008, University of Deusto, San Sebastian, Spain
Hosted by Orkestra-Basque Institute of Kompetitiveness and Development and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Basque Country Government, in collaboration with TCI-The Competitiveness Institute, the event will bring together a range of government experts working on the fields of competitiveness benchmarking and competitiveness policy to exchange experiences and generate ideas.

This international study grew from the TCI 2007 Annual Conference in Portland-USA, and shows the benefit of cluster practitioners getting together, agreeing to work together and moving knowledge of clusters forward.

Barcelona, 30 June - 11 July 2008
After a very successful first edition, with 60 participants from 24 nationalities, of which 97% have given high marks and declared that they would recommend the School, the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics has launched the second edition, to be held from June 30th to July 11th. With the same international panel of professors coming from academia, policy and cluster practitioners, and with the special contribution of the National Research Council of Canada and the Innovation Agency of Catalonia, that will present their experiences, this year edition puts the accent on Cluster Policy during the first week and on Cluster Management during the second.
