2nd Urban Cluster Day at 22@Barcelona

Barcelona, 7 February 2008
The Urban Cluster Day in Barcelona is coming to its second edition. The very successful first conference in 2007 is promising an interesting repetition this year. 22@ is a close partner of TCI in Barcelona.

For the second consecutive year 22@ Barcelona is working with the Center for Innovation and Business Development (CIDEM) and the Barcelona City Council’s Economic Promotion area to make this conference a place to reflect on and further analyze the cluster model.

During the Plenary Session, presided over by Joan Trullén, Spanish Secretary General for Industrial Affairs, we will have the opportunity to listen to industry leaders like Alfonso Vegara, 2007 Jaume I Award winner for Urban planning, Landscapes and Sustainability, who will speak about creative cities; Jon Azua, Former Vice President of the Basque Country and President of the e-novating lab, who will analyze the role clusters play in globalization; and Tom Cannon, CEO of Ideopolis International, who will discuss the key topic of attracting talent.

The program and the registration link can be found at http://www.22barcelona.com/jornadadeclustersurbans.

The attendance to the Symposium is free of charge but for capacity restrictions the registration will be on a first-come, first-served base.

Barcelona's 22@ district is both an urban regeneration project and a new model of city that seeks to respond to the challenges posed by the knowledge society by creating 4 fundamental clusters: MEDIA, ICT, ENERGY, BIOTECH.
