PRO Maschinenbau OWL is a network in Bielefeld and shows how to transform from an old industry to an innovative mashinery cluster, using the highly developed existing infrastructure.
The network has set the goal of further strengthening the available economic and technological power of mechanical engineering for medium-sized enterprises in the region and creating special, location-specific advantages for them in global competition.
There should be continuous stimulation for product and organisational innovation through communication and exchange of experience, as well as a stronger integration of the region's higher institutions of learning. Advantages can be quickly realised through cooperation. Suppliers and net- product partners of the branch are integrated into the communication process.
Co-ordinated location marketing enables positioning "The region of competence in mechanical engineering, East Westphalia-Lippe" for relevant target-groups at home and abroad, as a leading region in mechanical engineering.
