The kompetenznetze.de 2004/05 yearbook (fields of competence) offers comprehensive information on these networks of competence and their contribution to the innovation process. It reviews the profile of some specific regions and their key fields of innovation, based on the recognition that innovation is no longer the outcome of single firm efforts, but due to inter-organizational relationships and networks, supported by clusters.
