Written 18.05.2005 22:00 by    Print    Send article

Kompetenznetze is a website arising from an initiative from the German Federal Ministry of Research and Education. Among descriptions of the different fields of competence in Germany it contains a section on international networks in 10 other countries like Finland, Canada, Austria or Japan.

This initiative is conceived as an instrument for international locational marketing due to the presentation of the most competent networks in Germany, and an attractive research source and communication platform for those seeking information and partners in Germany.

The section on international networks is based on a 10-country comparative study conducted by VDI Technology Center on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It presents similar programmes aimed at supporting networking structures between research and economy in e.g. Austria, Canada, France, USA. General information on the programmes in the different countries can be found here:
www.kompetenznetze.de/navi/en/internationale-netze.html.

You can also download the comparative study and two complementary documents:
  • The report of a kick-off workshop centring around the functioning and success criteria of networks of innovation.
  • The 10-country comparative study presenting programmes aimed at supporting networking structures between research and economy. (4,1 MB)
  • The report of a concluding workshop discussing current trends of the development of the instrument "networks of innovation".
