Susan Johnson had a career spanning 17 years in the IT and Systems Integration industry, with various roles in International Sales & Marketing before moving into the public sector. Susan's professional qualifications are in Business and Finance with an MBA from Durham University. She is currently Executive Director Business Development for Yorkshire Forward, the Regional Development Agency for Yorkshire & Humber region. Yorkshire Forward is a Government Agency charged with the strategic leadership on economic development for the region. The Agency is accountable to the UK Secretary of State for the Department of Trade & Industry. Yorkshire Forward is also one of the founding members of the Clusters and Competitiveness Foundation. Susan's functional responsibilities cover cluster development, inward investment, international trade, enterprise and start-up support, broadband and e-commerce and innovation and technology transfer. She also maintains a direct interest in business as a non-executive director of a food industry UK plc. She was awarded the OBE in 2000 for her services to the Government's New Deal Programme.
