Prof. Piero Formica

Piero Formica is Dean of the International Faculty of Economics of Entrepreneurship at the Emirates Center for Entrepreneurship, UAE, and Marie Curie Professor of Knowledge Economy and Entrepreneurship in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Tartu.

He has recently been appointed as an International Visiting Professor at the Beihang University (aerospace university) in Beijing.

He also is acting as a member of the Steering Commitee of the IASP 05 World Conference in Beijing, 18-21 September 2005. The objective of this conference is to promote the exchanges, cooperation and information sharing among science parks and to play a positive role in promoting the worldwide science parks and the development of the international hi-tech industries. IASP is the International Association of Science Parks and organizes conferences all over the world to promote and facilitate the exchange of experiences of Science Parks.

His current research activity, in view of a survey for the OECD, is focused on entrepreneurship education and knowledge transfer in the Eastern and Central European countries and on knowledge entrepreneurs. You can download the preliminary paper he wrote in this context.

Prof. Formica is also member of the editorial board of the publishing hour knowledgeeconomy, where you can also find one of his papers: www.knowledgeeconomy.it.
