Michael Enright, the host of our annual conference in Hong Kong, has recently published a new book on regional development in China together with Edith Scott and Ka-Mun Chang.

"Regional Powerhouse: The Greater Pearl River Delta and the Rise of China", by Michael Enright, Edith Scott, and Ka-Mun Chang (Wiley 2005), captures the essence of China's largest and most internationally-oriented economic region. The Greater Pearl River Delta, consisting of Hong Kong, Macao, and the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone of Guangdong Province, has taken advantage of its complementarities to develop some of the world's most dynamic clusters and to become one of the world's leading economic regions. Whether you are concerned about competition from China, or excited about market prospects in China, the Greater Pearl River Delta region simply cannot be ignored.

"Excellent and exhaustive" - The Economist

"Thorough, informative, analytic" - Ezra Vogel, Harvard University

"Compelling and rigorous" - Alasdair Morrison, Chairman and CEO, Asia; Morgan Stanley

See Wiley (the Publisher) and the 2022 Foundation Website for the executive summary.
