Creative Clusters in Crossborder Collaborations
4th Competitiveness Forum
9-10 June, Tornio-Haparanda, Finland
TCI-The Competitiveness Institute, Kemi-Tornio University and Prodemic Consulting Group collaborated in the 4th Competitiveness Forum with focus on Creative Clusters and Crossborder Collaborations.
Europe, like over 75 countries across the world, is currently prioritizing clusters on the global agenda to improve the competitiveness of regions and enterprises. In 2006 EU allocated more than 10 million euros over a 3-year-period to identify European clusters, effective cluster policies and best practices for cluster training. The overall aim of the EU project is to promote cooperation between European clusters.
Baltic Sea Region enhances and tightens co-operation for gaining new type of Nordic forces within EU. Also Finland will strengthen the emphasis on service innovations of SME's based on strong creativity.
The 4th Competitiveness Forum was focused on Creative Clusters in Crossborder Collaborations and specially the internatinal growth opportunities of SME's. The goal has been to assimilate business communities, academia and governance in order to foster and deepen a more holistic approach.

Christian Kettels, Director of TCI and other TCI members took part in this Competitiveness Forum that came to be a succees in discussing many ideas about how to stimulate the growth and international business for SME's by introducing excellent examples of concrete cross-border collaborations.
