The efficiency of public management and the results of implementing the Modernizing Public Management Program, innovation and management and the role of municipalities for the improvement of the country’s business environment will be discussed during the meeting.

The Brazil Competitive Movement (MBC) was created on November 11, 2001, aiming to assist in the task of improving the performance of quality and as a result the country's ability to compete in the international scene. MBC believes that competitiveness is given by the combination of several factors, including the performance of the economy, the effectiveness of governments and private sector, the quality of our products and infrastructure availability. Extracting the maximum of these variables in benefit of all and with quality of life is the challenge imposed on managers who really believe in the future of their own business and Brazil. Therefore, the promotion of global competitiveness is the main tool of this new time.

Having as it’s main goal developing actions to promote national competitiveness, MBC organizes since 2003 the International Congress: Competitive Brazil. This event is one of the actions of MBC on it’s way to spread the concepts and dissemination of techniques and tools to promote the management of business and competitiveness of the country.

The 6th International Congress: Competitive Brazil http://www.mbc.org.br/mbc/portal/6congresso will be held on July 22, 2008, at the Convention Center of Brasília Alvorada Hotel, in Brasilia, DF. The central theme of the meeting will be "200 years of State: Innovation in Public Management" and will discuss the efficiency of public management and the results of implementing the Modernizing Public Management Program, innovation and management and the role of municipalities for the improvement of the country’s business environment.
