European survey on qualification needs of cluster managers open until 31st of October

What skills do cluster managers need to fulfil their tasks? What kind of trainings are necessary to meet their future challenges? The first large scale survey supported by PRO INNO Europe on the skills and training needs of European cluster managers is aimed at proceeding towards a clearer job profile and preparing the ground for future trainings on a European scale. Your participation is important: Cluster Organisations and Clustermanagers should participate. This survey is completed by cluster practitioners, for cluster practitioners.

The CEE-ClusterNetwork is conducting the first large scale survey on the skills and training needs of European cluster managers.

The CEE-ClusterNetwork runs under the PRO INNO Europe initiative established by DG Enterprise and Industry at the European Commission.

Cluster organisations and initiatives are considered as new and highly efficient forms of innovation support channelling specialised and customised business support services to enterprises. Cluster management of high quality is important to promote cluster excellence in Europe and efficient cluster organisations are the driving engine of clusters. Their performance is very much linked to the professional expertise and the capability of cluster managers who dispose of good cluster insight to provide efficient support to cluster members.

As cluster management is a relatively new profession a clear common job profile has not yet been developed, sometimes forcing cluster managers to operate without a clear role definition. This survey is aimed at proceeding towards a common job profile and preparing the ground for future trainings on a European scale.

Target groups of the survey are:

2. "cluster co-ordinating organisations" (organisations developing, establishing, financing and/or co-ordinating cluster initiatives within a region, e.g. innovation agencies, etc.) aiming at evaluating qualification needs of cluster managers from both perspectives.
