1-2 December 2008, European Parliament, Brussels
The Knowledge4Innovation platform will formally launch its policy instrument "The Lisbon Forum of the European Parliament" on 1-2 December in Brussels.

The Lisbon Forum affords its members the opportunity to engage with members of the European Parliament and representatives of other EU institutions in an ongoing ‘Policy Dialogue’. It is specifically designed for policy makers and the business and science communities to effectively introduce their respective agendas and address the most pressing issues concerning Europe as a knowledge and innovation economy.

Europeans enjoy one of the highest standards of living in the world, which, however is being severely threatened by major challenges, including changes in climate, demographics, and high energy and food prices as well as increasing competition, particularly from Asia.

To address these challenges and secure its future, Europe depends increasingly on its ability to successfully generate and manage knowledge and innovation. The Knowledge4Innovation platform, launched in April 2008, contributes to this engagement by enabling multiple stakeholders representing the knowledge and innovation economy to meet and exchange their experiences and best practices with the common objective of improving Europe's innovation performance.
