A word from the president
-----------------------------------------------------------------
We are fast approaching our 8th Annual Conference in Hong Kong on
November, 8-11! "Enter the Dragon: China's Emergence and
International Competitiveness." So make a quick decision and
register online at the conference website:
www.tciconference8.org. One of the Cluster Tours is already fully
booked, so make sure you get a place for the tour to Guangzhou or
to one of the Hong Kong Cluster Tours!
We strongly recommend you to also book your hotel as soon as
possible as this is a very busy time in Hong Kong and airlines
and hotels are already filling up. The conference host has
arranged special prices for you at the conference hotel
Shangri-La. For more information please see the website of the
conference.
This will also be my last newsletter, as the baton passes to Lars
Eklund at the conference. Serving as president has been a great
honor and privilege. In this position, I've been in a unique
position to learn more about clusters, but probably most about
the value of meaningful dialogue in a wider competitiveness
context. I think TCI is in a good position to serve as a platform
for such dialogues, and in my new capacity as VP for the
Americas, I will focus on enhancing TCI's role in that region.
